  hey make sure you catch david letterman again tonight in his monologue referng to jw's he said something like: "apparently, what they do is they grope you, then hand you a pamphlet" according to a friend that just watched it he made 2 comments about the jw's did any one else see it and if so what did he say?.

  Hey I just emailed Dave and briefly congradulated him on his piece. I am sure if the writers think they have found something funny, they will string it on now for a few more shows.LIke sunflowers30 meantioned that joke seem to have brought the most laughter so believe me they will string this one out. Also I am surprise Leno hasn't jumped on the band wagon also. They seem to compete with each other on the joke material.

  Hi Dave and staff,

  I would like to congratulate you on the piece you did about Jehovah's Witnesses and their sex abuse scandal. The leadership of the Jehovah's Witnesses, the Governing Body of the Watchtower Society, doesnt seem to understand the importance of child abuse but are covering it up. Unlike the Catholic church that are at least being forced to deal with the issue of child abuse, The Jehovah's Witnesses feel they have done nothing wrong, thus they keep allowing these sexual predators to knock on your door... Keep up the good work.

  " I don't know but are you like me and getting tired of these religious sex abuse scandals? First it was the Catholics, now its the Jehovah's Witnesses. This is really weird. The Jehovah's Witnesses, its crazy. Here's what happens, they will grope you and then leave you a pamphlet." (Laughter and Applause) So the Jehovah's Witnesses are in a lot of trouble and they went to court today. The first day the Jehovah's Witnesses went to court and no one would answer the door. Thats the problem they wouldnt answer the door, to get a pamphlet." (More laughter)

  1000 were asked to leave brooklyn bethel (actually, this includes the farm and patterson) "voluntarily!

  " only 6 replied to the request in the last 3 weeks.

  it looks like the "waters" of bethel are drying up, or rather, their revenues are drying up!

  Yeah what is a fellow to do with only a high school education?? If they 

  end up strapped without money, I am sure the WT won't bail them out. 

  I guess the WT is saving money for all the lawsuites that will be coming 

  in.

  this honestly seem to be message im getting from most jws.think about it whats more important the source or the information ie:say for instance i was an ex jw and told a witness who new me there house was on fire would they believe me, or label me as being unspiritual and liar.they seem to think that the watchtower society is jehovah, if he tells them to jump its matter of how high?

  Yes and i agree with the way you are handling your parents to, joannadandy.. What good would it do if they quite talking to you altogether? Keep up the good work and then one day if we all do this, the WT will start to lose their control over the membership. We can only hope.

  Will religion ever be banned?

  i was asking because look at all the problems religion are causing :september 11,middle east crisis,waco disaster,clashes in ireland,paedophiles priests,suicide bombings,papal system etc.but think if masses of people protested it my not ban religion completely,but it could make a start to banning it.but the trouble again is that a lot of people want religion even if it is full of @*~t,yeh and why is it that people know theres problems in there religion but wont take a stand,why are religious people are such cowards to the truth.saying that though if i managed to get say jws banned from preaching i would be fulfilling bible prophecy mmm how cool lol

  I agree with you there but like myself I take what I can out of all religions and apply it to my life. I think would you will find is most will develop a highbred type of beliefs based on all beliefs.

  I don't think you would ever see a ban on religion. Although I am not religious I believe that everyone has a right to believe the way they want and I would defend their rights to believe that way. I think what you may see is as more and more people become educated, they will start to drift away from the main stream religions. They will develop their own belief systems away from all organized religions.

  JW behavior at my worldly aunt's funeral

  it's been a few months since i've been here, so i thought i'd stop in and say hello.

  i also wanted to to tell you a story about my jw mother's behavior at my worldly aunt's funeral.

  this isn't a post of any educational value, just a post for me to rant, so read on if you would like.. about two weeks ago, i attended a funeral for my aunt julie who, after suffering with cancer for about two years, lost her battle with the disease and passed away.

  My deepest sympathies to you AMarie but it sound like a wonderful way to say good bye to your aunt. As far as your Dub mother is concerned it didn't surprise me. They never miss a beat when they think they have an opportunity to do some conversions.. They are incapable of grieving like normal people. I recall a Jdub aunt I had that died a few years ago. Only one of her children were a dub and the other two were not. It must have been agreed not to bring up the religion thing. I was surprised my cousin that was the dub, said a few words but didn't push the dub thing. I remember though after how my mom didn't think to much of it because it didn't mention her hope for the future. Myself I thought it was good and it was a nice way to celebrate my aunts life.

  Instead of putting all their time and energy in denying the allegation, why don't they put it into changing WT policies on pedophiles? Although this makes sense to us but thats what you get with a cult.
